Love, Light, and Life

Communication is to a relationship what water is to a plant. There are hundreds of ways to converse and connect but nothing beats the contact by eye and touch of heart. Eyes convey what the heart wants and transmit what dreams can conceive. In the age of 4G and 5G internet, to claim the superiority of these medieval modes of communication is like a fool’s brag.

I wouldn’t mind arguing in the favor of communication relayed through the heart and eyes. Man has spoken to deities, angels, and strangers only through heartbeat, dreams, and the mutual gaze. Moreover, most of the science is merely a product of supposition and human imagination. The brain assists at times like these as an e-library and a word processor. Some communications are silent and some are loud. Some are essential and others are meaningless. One of those necessary ones is the one that planet Earth is trying to establish with its residents, the communication of peaceful coexistence.

This is the age of infotech and communication revolutions. Scientists are planning to go to the moon to set up a 4G network in order to make contact with the robo explorers. Imagine communicating with an IA on another planet. How much access and control of the far-flung planets it will give to human beings, sitting here on the earth.

Man’s phenomenal increase in reach and capability to travel with speed and light provides him with abundant resources and choices.

The unprecedented success in communication and algorithms has given him limitless powers to explore planets and their moons.

However, we cannot forget how the explorers of the other planets treated their own. The present conditions of Earth are predictors of what can happen on other worlds. So far humans have contributed  nothing but debris to space and the other planets. We have polluted space while we will plunder the moon and Mars. We want to terraform other planets while we are rapidly burning ours.

Every now and then Earth tries to communicate with us, protesting against our treatment of her. Sometimes it shakes, other times it spills water reminding its residents to live in harmony and mutual respect.

But we overlook these attempts at communication from our home. We keep on exploiting everything we can to bend the universe to our purpose.

The ego is a veil between humans and God.

  • Rumi

The sooner humans learn to be one with the universe, the better it is for their existence. We can explore and expand to any part of the galaxy but should not intend to subjugate it. Like earth, the universe offers gifts of many sorts: lands full of minerals and horizons loaded with newer milky ways. Now it is a reality that the Southern Hemisphere of the moon holds water. Who knows what else is hidden out there. Before soaring there to transform other planets, we must stop devastating our home. This is what the Earth is trying to say if we are willing to listen. Earth feeds, protects, and provides for us like a parent. It shelters us as a home. It dispenses water to quench our thirst. So far, all voyaging across universes strongly recommends that Earth is more precious and valuable to us than anything the universe could offer. Let us cherish it more and keep it safe. We should mean what we say and we should say what we mean.
